Can you imagine how many people got suffered from McAfee products? Do a google search with key word “McAfee Sucks“. Surprisingly, there are 188,000 results retured. That means there are 188,000 web pages saying “McAfee sucks“.  If we assume 1% people wrote down their complaints on Internet, that means there are about

188,000 X 100 = 18,800,000

people are complaining.

Wow,  a big number! So it is not a surprise that friends around you don’t like McAfee. There are 18,800,000 people out there hate them.

Spring anounces unlimited mobile to mobile plan for $70

Sprint on Thursday announced its  “Everything Data Plan” which offers unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling to any network, text messages, 3G data, and MMS for $70. That means any mobile network in US are included. They are Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.

Current customers who already have an “Everything Data” plan will be automatically upgraded.

The plan fits needs of customers who use data services heavily by using smart phones.

Tray Dictionary 1.3 was just released later this week.   The new version has new beautiful UI and use Cambridge as the backend dictionary. In addition, it can automatically highlight the word for search.

I like to use small tools which means small size, handy and light weight. Small size means less disk space and memory usage. Handy means very convenient to use, no complicated configuration necessary. Light weight means very clean and simple functions.

Tray dictionary is the small tool I like. Its function is just for search English word quickly while you are reading.  It always stay in the tray be ready to look up word. Awsome!

Conflicker wakes up

In the beginning,  Conficker spreads via USB drive. It installs itself when user uses USB drive which was affected by Conficker. Now Conflicker wakes up and  update via peer-to-peer between infected computers and dropping a mystery payload on infected computers according ZDNet news.

Researchers are analyzing the code of the software that is being dropped onto infected computers and suspect that it is a keystroke logger or some other program designed to steal data from the machine.   The software appeared to be a .sys component hiding behind a rootkit, which is software that is designed to hide the fact that a computer has been compromised.  The hidden rootkit can be detect by wenpoint HiddenFinder.

According to a post on the TrendLabs Malware blog, the awakened worm tries to connect to MySpace.com, MSN.com, eBay.com, CNN.com and AOL.com as a way to test that the computer has Internet connectivity. It then deletes all traces of itself in the host machine, and is scheduled to shut down on May 3.
